Middle School is a time to continue developmental learning. It is also a time of increased independence for kids, and of individualizing and identifying with their true core passions. Not everyone is going to be interested in environmental science-based climate learning. An interdisciplinary approach to climate teaching is imperative at this age, as students start taking classes by subject as well. Interacting and engaging with students about climate change in all subjects can improve retention and interest in activism for climate change.
